Outfits with longer style tops by Passpart, at Style Trading, Windermere.
Outfits with longer style tops by Passpart, at Style Trading, Windermere.

WHAT an eclectic mix of hippy-frills, safari-style and tailored-sailor we are seeing arrive on our high streets.

The look' for us girls - if there really is one - is in the print.

From pretty floral to the strong 60s geometric print, this season's wardrobe insists that you mix up your fabrics and colours for more artistic flare. It's all about longer-length tops worn with cute shorter skirts, cropped trousers and shorts - worn of course with the 70s platform shoes that I wore first time around.

When I say platforms' I'm speaking more of Vivienne Westwood than the Spice Girls. Heels are high but sculpted, rather than boxy.

Legs should be long and thin between the hem of your cute little shorts and your heels... if they're not, don't attempt this look unless of course you're performing with Mika at the next awards.

Try cropped white capri pants with your heels, and flatter your fuller figure with a longer tunic-style top.

Let your clothes flow - with nothing tucked in.

Use a wide belt for shape at the waist (avoid this if you have a bigger bottom as it'll only accentuate the size).

Platform canvas sandals from Debenhams.

Longer, unfitted light-knit cardigans are in, draping off the body shape, making you look far skinnier.

The safari suit is a big look for women - it's ageless and it's a look I predict we will be able to wear for a few years to come - a good investment.

I love the safari linen that's in at Lakeland. The wider leg trousers sit slightly higher on the waist and are well cut on the thigh. The lightweight jacket-style top is flattering on the bust and waist, a fab' easy wear outfit for the coming season.
