Running - Wilson Run celebrates 125th anniversary
THE 125th running of the famous Wilson Run cross-country race takes place at Sedbergh School next Tuesday.
It is reckoned to be the hardest cross-country race undertaken at any school in England and will see more than 100 boys and girls running more than ten miles across moors, fells, bogs and rivers.
It should be a very exciting race this year, with no obvious winner in either the boys or girls event.
The race is set to start at 2.30pm on Back Lane with the runners due back at around 3.45pm near the library.
On the eve of the race a celebration dinner is being held for previous winners of the race at Queens Hall, Sedbergh School. It is hoped that
round 18 winners will be able to attend including the current course record-older Charles Sykes and the winner for the last two years,Simon Barnby.
